What is Ververica Platform

Ververica Platform is a management layer for Apache Flink. Axual integrates with an existing Ververica Platform deployment to run Managed Flink SQL applications: Kafka-to-Kafka streaming transformations written in Flink SQL, without the application owner managing Flink infrastructure directly.

Ververica Platform itself is not deployed by Platform Manager. An operator deploys and operates it separately, and Axual’s Platform Manager talks to it over its REST API.

A Flink Cluster is the Self-Service resource that links an Instance Cluster to a Ververica Platform deployment: its Flink URL, workspace, namespace, deployment target, and Schema Registry endpoints. A Tenant Admin registers it once, and Self-Service uses it to deploy, monitor, and manage every Flink application targeting that Instance Cluster.

See Enabling Flink for an Instance for how to register one, and Managing Flink Applications for how application owners use it.
